How a drywall repair goes
We diagnose
We identify the cause first: impact, settling, nail pops, past leak or movement.
We rebuild
Clean cut, backing installed, new drywall of the same thickness, tape and three coats of compound.
We blend
Texture matched to the existing pattern, then primer over the compound so it won't flash.
We paint
The area or the full wall is painted so the repair disappears.
What drywall repair actually involves
Drywall repair starts with the cause, not the hole. Before we cut anything, we look at why the wall failed: a doorknob impact, house settling, nail pops along a stud line, movement, or a leak that has since dried. If water is still active, we say so and stop — patching over a live moisture source hides the problem instead of fixing it.
Then we rebuild the opening the right way. We cut clean, square edges, install backing behind the opening so the new piece has something to land on, and set new drywall of the same thickness as the original. Mixing 1/2" and 5/8" board is one of the most common reasons a patch reads as a bump forever.
Next comes tape and three coats of joint compound, each one feathered wider than the last. Wide feathering is what makes the transition invisible; a narrow three-inch mud job always shows as a halo when afternoon light rakes across the wall. Texture is then matched to the surrounding pattern, whether it's knockdown, orange peel or hand-troweled.
Finally we seal the compound with primer and paint. Bare joint compound absorbs paint differently than the surrounding wall, which is exactly what causes a patch to "ghost" — a dull, visible rectangle that shows up once the finish dries. Priming the repair is not optional in our process, and neither is painting the area or the full wall afterward.
Why it holds up
What you get with a Miracles Happen patch
Small details that decide whether the repair disappears or stares at you every evening.
Backed and same-thickness board
New drywall matches the original thickness and sits on real backing, so the patch doesn't flex or crack later.
Three coats, wide feathering
Tape plus three compound coats, each feathered wider, so there's no ridge under raking light.
Texture matched, not guessed
We blend the new texture into the existing pattern instead of leaving a smooth island in a textured wall.
Primed so it won't ghost
Compound gets sealed with primer before paint, which is what keeps the patch from flashing dull once it dries.
Two visits, honest timing
Small patches usually take two visits over two days because compound has to dry between coats. We don't pretend otherwise.
Residential only
We work in houses, condos and townhomes across Aurora and the south metro. No commercial or office jobs.

This is for homeowners with damage that has a clear cause and a dry wall behind it: doorknob holes, cracked corners from settling, nail pops running down a stud, furniture dents, holes left after plumbing or electrical access, and stains from a leak that has already been repaired.
It is not for active water. If moisture is still coming through, the source has to be fixed first — otherwise the compound, the texture and the paint all fail again within a season. We'll tell you that at the estimate rather than take the job.
Drywall repair also pairs naturally with painting. If several patches are spread across a room, the honest answer is often to repair and then repaint the full wall or the room, because a wall with four primed patches will never look as even as one finished surface. We quote both lines separately so you can see exactly what you're paying for.
